National Corndog Day - Dogs, Hoops, Tots, and Beers. National Corndog Day is March 17, 2012!

National Corndog Day coincides with the Saturday of the final 32 teams in NCAA basketball tournament (this year it’s March 19).
This Saturday is the only day all year that one can watch a quadruple-header of college basketball games from start to finish without having to change the channel.
Therefore, to celebrate the excitement of the college basketball tournament, and have fun with friends, we eat Corndogs! Lots of Corndogs...

New sponsor: Suzie’s Yellow Mustard

We are excited to add yet another stellar sponsor – Suzie’s Yellow mustard. What would a corndog be without the essential classic yellow mustard? Still delicious, but not nearly as much so in our humble opinion… Over the year’s we have dipped and dabbled in hundreds of mustards, Suzie’s is the best! It’s all natural, and American made, like any true mustard should be. Would we ever steer you wrong? Don’t answer that….just try it! We think you’ll like it also.

Suzie’s Yellow Mustard is the Official Mustard of National Corndog Day! Once you get your party pack with Suzie’s in it we know you will want more of it. Everything you need to know is right here. The folks at Barhyte Specialty Foods Inc. make Suzie’s and hundreds of other great products to dunk your corndog or what have you, like NCAA-licensed Mustards, Hot Wing Sauces and Blue Cheese dip!

ABOUT Barhyte Specialty Foods Inc.

Barhyte Specialty Foods, based out of Pendleton, Oregon, has roots dating back 200 years and 6,000 miles away in Germany, where Jacobus Barhyte first created a sweet-and-sour mustard that he brought to the US. Many generations later, Jan and Susan Barhyte began selling mustard from the original recipe, as well as other signature creations, through their Swift and Martin Station Deli. Thanks to overwhelming demand, the family launched their own manufacturing operation in 1977. Today, the company offers more than 65 award-winning mustards, marinades, sauces, and other condiments through the Barhyte Specialty Foods, Saucy Mama, and Suzie’s Mustard brand names, as well as through co-branded and private label relationships.

NCD 2011 PBR Photo Contest

UPDATE: Contests are now closed to new entries! We'll announce winners on April 9th!

Go on, get your cameras ready, find that creative spark and some friends willing to smile and say "cheese" in the name of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer and National Corndog Day.

It is with great excitement that we here at NCD headquarters proudly present the fourth annual Pabst Blue Ribbon photo contest. Like last year's contest, the rules are simple. First prize will take home their very own PBR mini fridge (something every corndog party needs), second prize $50, third $25 and each of the top five will also have a free NCD party pack sent to them for their 2010 festivities.

Your submitted photo must at minimum, include PBR and a corndog. Photos that don't will not be considered. Judges will be on the lookout for something unique that encapsulates the spirit of NCD.

To enter, simply find a bit of inspiration, point, shoot, and <del>submit your photo on the NCD website.</del> The contest will be open to submissions until April 2. Winners will be declared on April 9, one entry per person so make it count.

Please keep it (mostly) clean.

See all the entries

The NCD Video Contest is Back!

UPDATE: Contests are now closed to new entries. We'll announce the winners on April 9!

Charge up the batteries, set up the tripod and finalize your choreography. National Corndog Day is making the video contest a tradition.

It is with great excitement that we welcome the National Corndog Day Video Contest back for another round in 2011. The rules are pretty simple really:

Shoot some video the day of your party

Your movie must include prominent footage of corndog(s)

Chop it down. Edit it to no longer than 60 seconds

Post that masterpiece to YouTube

<del>Submit the URL for your video on our contest page</del>

Watch the other videos as well

How will we determine the winners? Hey, we may not know art, but we know what we like. Do something that impresses us and you could win. Winners will receive a free party pack for next year’s Corndog Day party. The contest will be open to submissions until April 2. Winners to be declared on April 9, one entry per person so make it count.

Please keep it (mostly) clean.
