Jones Soda says: Poem the heck out of that Corndog Day

The 2009 Jones Poetry Slam is now closed!

Muse, thy name is Corndog.

Jones Soda is calling all inner poets to pour your heart and soul into an ode to Corndog Day. Haikus? Sure. Wack rhymes? Absolutely. Long-winded iambic pentameter…uh, not so much. Here’s the thing: it can’t be longer than 240 characters. YES, including spaces & punctuation.

What’s the contest?

Write up your best corndog poem. Submit it to us by March 31, 2009. The top management at National Corndog Day and the nice folks at Jones Soda will judge them and pick an overall winner. That person will receive a Jones Prize Pack.

A Prize Pack? What’s in it, what’s in it?

It will be filled with indescribable riches and lavish…ok we don’t exactly know yet. We’re working that out. But our hand to corndog, it’ll be sweet.

240 Characters? Why so stingy?

ONLY SO MUCH FINE PROSE CAN FIT ON ONE SKINNY JONES SODA BOTTLE AND One, reading takes time, and neither we nor Jones has a ton of it. Two, the overall winner will have his or her poem printed on THE OFFICIAL NCD JONES soda bottles next year. But mostly it’s the reading thing.
