National Corndog Day is March 22, 2008!

Corndog Love: A big thanks from the founders

Hi folks.

When we first celebrated National Corndog Day back in high school, we couldn't have imagined that dozens, let alone tens of thousands, of other folks across the country shared our love for corndogs, hoops, tots, and good carbonated beverages. Each year since its birth NCD has grown, and this year it grew exponentially, from 117 parties to over 4900 parties. Wow!?????

That's a lot of corndog love... that we didn't see coming or expect. So let us start by saying a huge thanks to everyone who has visited the site, who signed up to be a party host, and who is planning to celebrate on March 22nd. Your enthusiasm is what makes this day so much fun for us, and for the thousands of others across the country who celebrate. Thank you. This is truly a special holiday, thanks to all of you!

With the unexpected growth, we have inevitably experienced unexpected hiccups. We were overwhelmed by the number of party signups and have been doing everything we can behind the scenes to accommodate all of the enthusiastic corndoggers. We apologize that haven't been as communicative as we should have been. We would have liked to let hosts know their status much earlier, and to have sent everyone personal emails about it. That didn't happen, and for that we apologize, and pledge to do better. During this time, we exhausting all options in conjunction with our partners at Foster Farms to do everything we could to accommodate the unprecedented growth this year.

We are already planning for next year, and will sit down with our friends at Foster Farms and at PBR well in advance to figure out the best way to support NCD and its many fans and participants. That is our commitment to you corndog lovers -- it is the least we can do.

Please also remember that National Corndog Day is managed by a group of committed corndog lovers. We all have day jobs, and work on National Corndog Day out of a love of corndogs and -- most important -- the fellowship that celebrating an American tradition (and creating new ones) provides. NCD parties went on across the country for years before Foster Farms generously offered to provide corndogs to parties -- and there were only eight parties at the time. They've grown their commitment as we've grown, and up until this year had provided corndogs to every party that was logistically possible -- including attempts to send dogs to parties in Sydney, San Salvador, and Almaty, Kazakhstan!

Foster Farms has been unbelievable and unwavering in their support of National Corndog Day. This year they have stepped up and generously provided corndogs to twice as many parties as last year. We have had an open, honest, and productive dialogue with them during this unprecedented and unexpected growth, and they have been tremendous partners. Believe us when we say they have done everything they reasonably could have done to accommodate us, a bunch of freeloadin' corndoggers!

So thanks to everyone for participating, thanks to Foster Farms and Pabst Blue Ribbon, and have a wonderful Corndog Day!!!

Corndog day was around before free corndogs, official beers, and 5,000 It was and always will be about friends, fellowship, basketball, and fun. If you are having a party for those reasons, we welcome you to the corndog family and hope that you will join us for many more in the future.

Look for some new posts from us this week about different ways to participate online on Saturday as well.

And keep on corndoggin'.

Brady, Henry and the NCD Crew

Thank You NCD

Even though I am not an official host, Thank You NCd crew for all your hard work!
We had never heard of NCD and we are so glad to have found this site! We will still be celebrating on March 22 with corndogs and icy cold beer even if we have to make them ourselves! We will continue to do this every year! Thanks NCD crew and party on!!!!!

Get your corn dogs soon!

I just noticed last night that my local grocery store is out of corn dogs. This proves that national corn dog day momentum is building. If I can't find any more corn dogs, we are gonna make them from scratch this year!

Many thanks!

I'm just glad to have learned about NCD at all! Now I tell anyone who will listen about this funtastic celebration. Consider me enlightened!

You know I had never even heard of National Corndog Day before last year, you've done an awesome job! From such humble beginnings to all 50 states is quite an achievment you should be proud of! The corndog finally gets it's due! LOL Before long every calendar will have it marked as a holiday. It's great, a day to enjoy the "finer" things in life with good friends and family. Thanks guys!
Just a suggestion: A nice thank you note to the sponsors from those who have sponsored parties would probably be appreciated. Let foster Farms and Pabst know how much we appreciate the support. I know I'll be sending one.

Top notch job as usual,

Top notch job as usual, guys! Less than 5 days to go and I'm getting goose bumps already.
