My Interview with BK Tot Champion Sue

Seeking inspiration, I e-interviewed Triple-tot crown winner Susan Craine about her inspirations, techniques and drive:

> Sue, you have a unique perspective and approach to NCD (National
>Corndog Day) competition. As Tots champion for several years running, you
>are the one to beat in the potato category. Can you share a little bit
>about your goals this year?

Well this year presents a unique challenge. I am currently on a new
healthy eating plan written by a well known company that incredibly does
not include tots as one of the healthy foods. I'm going to be working
towards shattering the prejudice by retaining my title and still losing
weight this week...

>2. Do you feel that you have any significant challengers in the Tot
>category? Will you go for the overall NCD crown this year?

I've glanced at the attendee list and I'm seeing any obvious
challengers. However, I'm not forgetting that Gina Kim is now eating for
2 and may pose a significant threat. Also I'm always on the watch for
new challengers that may appear out of nowhere. Very much like
UW-Milwaukee rising up and beating Oklahoma earlier today. They killed
my bracket.

>3. What is your favorite thing about the tasty little nuggets known as the
>Tater Tot? Many top competitors say that their small size make them
>deceptive and easy to underestimate. On the other hand, it makes it a
>comfortable entry category for a lot of NCD virgins, meaning a possible
>spoiler. Do you agree?

My first word was "tot," so those tasty little numbers have always been
a part of my life. I love their crispy outside and their mushy inside. I
think they're better than corn dogs and beer.

>4. What's your feeling on the condiment controversy? A necessary lubricant
>for good competition, or unnecessary room taken up in the stomach?

Ketchup all the way. It can be especially helpful when you get a
slightly undercook tot. It makes you forget about the fact that sucker
is still frozen.

I ate 100 in 5 hours in 2004

I ate 100 in 5 hours in 2004 and 80 in 3 hours 2005.

So what is the tot record?

You never told us what her stats actually were, you gotta give us something to aim for.
