Less than 8 hours to go!
Submitted by windycity on Sat, 03/22/2008 - 03:48.The fridge and freezer are overflowing with dogs and tots, food such as lettuce and fruit has been thrown out of the fridge to accommodate massive quantities of PBR.
Condiments
Submitted by windycity on Tue, 03/18/2008 - 13:25.Every year I've had ketchup (even though I'm anti-ketchup) and a variety of mustards available as dog/tot condiments. I'm thinking of adding cheese in a can to the condiment selection this year.
24 hours from now
Submitted by windycity on Fri, 03/16/2007 - 14:39.We'll be floating amidst a sea of wooden sticks, empty beer cans and residual tot grease. I can't wait.
Dog storage tips
Submitted by windycity on Wed, 03/14/2007 - 09:46.The dogs have landed in Chicago, my freezer is maxed out and only a minimal amount of fridge space is reserved for dogs (most space for the beer).
Less than 2 months to go
Submitted by windycity on Thu, 01/18/2007 - 09:54.Mark it, dudes! I'm more excited over corndog day than I was for Christmas. Why must corndog day only come but once a year?
Chicago gets a triple-double!
Submitted by windycity on Sat, 03/18/2006 - 20:21.We have our first and only Chicago triple-double by Chris. He is in bad shape, but we have hope he will recover.
Chicago Update
Submitted by windycity on Sat, 03/18/2006 - 19:55.Five cases of dogs gone in Chicago, 500+ tots, too many beers to count. We have a man on the street doing a beer run as we speak. Random people have shown up to the party, reserve cases have been brought out from the freezer.
One last trip
Submitted by windycity on Sat, 03/18/2006 - 09:09.One more trip to the beer store now that my fridge is organized and then it's on. 250 corndogs, 500 tots, 100 beers. If you will it, it is no dream.
Houston, we have dogs!
Submitted by windycity on Fri, 03/17/2006 - 09:06.12 boxes of 28 count dogs have just been received in Chicago. I don't have anywhere near the freezer space for this. So far I have 7 boxes in my freezer, but just realized I have no room for tots. Some dogs have been relocated to the fridge, freeing up space for tots.
Triple Double strategies
Submitted by windycity on Fri, 03/17/2006 - 07:39.I'm no stranger to eating competitions, but this will be my virgin triple double attempt. What strategies have people found to work the best? I plan on starting at noon, so I'll have 12 hours to do this. One thing I've found to be the biggest problem with any eating contest is the boredom of the same taste over and over again. I fear the tot will be my worst enemy within the next 48 hours of my life. Something tells me I'm going to end up dipping my tots in steak sauce at some point.
