Digging out the dogs...

That is what I'll be doing tomorrow morning, after 6-10 inches of snow called for tonight, and another 5-8 expected tomorrow.

Burlington Pictures

Burlington elite squad
Burlington elite squad, our medal winners. John, Ken, and Rob, Triple Double finishers, what more can we say. Myself (Katrin) our top female finisher with a double double (tots, beer, +4 dogs), and Dani, beers, beers, and more beers (a single double, but she just kept drinking). You make Vermont proud.

Donating Unused Corndogs

For anyone with leftovers, I just returned from dropping off my extra dogs at the Chittenden County Emergency Food Shelf and Kitchen here in Burlington. They were very appreciative, and it means I don't have to look at corndogs in my freezer anymore.

Good Night and Good Luck

This is Burlington, Vermont, signing off. We have 3 triple doubles (two with asterisks), and myself as the top female contender with a double double, + 4 (tots, beer, plus dogs). See our pictures for more details. Ken was first, but puked on 9, 10, 10 before he could finish, Rob was second, with 10, 10, 10, but consumed all veggie dogs, which were much smaller. And then there was John...he started us all out today, and one of the last ones standing, a triple double with 10 jumbo dogs, 10 unts of tots, and 10 beers. We were all truly in awe. While our gathering may have been smaller in numbers than some of yours, we had true dedication to the cause, and it was truly a great day. We love corndogs, and we love you all.

Talk about clutch

After recieving our dogs at 11:59am this morning, we still managed to get the first dogs out of the oven for a few minutes after tip off. I'm not sure if the Fed Ex man had ever seen anyone so excited about corn dogs, and he was very apologetic about the late arrival. Not sure we are quite set up to eat 300 dogs, but we will do our darndest.

Why do we corndog?

Katrin attended her first Corndog Day while passing through DC during springbreak 1999. Yes, the infamous 1999 corndog day in Brady's apartment. She was hooked, and attended other Corndog Day celebrations while living in DC (there was some speculation that she moved there for the corndogs, but that appears to be, at least partially, rumor). She has since moved north to Vermont, but her yearning for meat on a stick has only grown stronger. This year she has vowed to take action, and show those in her corndog-challenged state what it means to be a true corn dogger from Corn Valley. What her 5'2" frame lacks in corndog eating capacity, she makes up for in her ability to convince others to keep consuming. She learned from the best there is, and she has seen those not worthy fall to a corndog induced doom. It promises to be an event that will live in Burlington lore for many years to come.
