The festivities have begun. We're updating the online tally sheet. We have 7 30 packs of PBR and 224 corndogs. They only had 8 boxes of honey crunch so we have 3 boxes of chili chese thrown in the mix.

Need a bigger house

We are close to 100 confirmed guests for this year's corndog day celebration. I hope the weather is nice because I don't think I can fit everyone in our house. Last year we had great weather and most people hung out on the deck and the kids played on the swingset. There's probably going to be a line for beer pong again so I'm going to put together a makeshift table and put it out in the backyard.
There is a good chance that we're going to have Pabst royalty stopping by. I can't give anymore information then that just yet but if it happens, it would really tie the party together.
We are also including a costume contest this year. Last year everyone had so much fun dressing up in green for St. Patty's Day, we just had to do something kooky this year. The theme is yacht rock and we're giving away PBR prizes for best costumes. 5 more days and so much left to do. The excitement is killing me!

Preparing For 2008

I know it's over a month away but we've already started preparations for this year's celebration. The invitations have been sent out, my husband canceled his gig that night, and we're working on poster ideas. National Corndog Day 2007 Indiana was a huge success.

I finally achieved the triple double around 1am consuming 10 corndogs, 100 tater tots, and 11 beers

A good time was had by all. During the day we had about 10 kids over here playing outside and cramming their little tummies full of corndogs and tots. On average, every kid ate about 2 corndogs and 30 tots. We kept a little tally sheet for them so they could be a part of the competition too. Don't worry, we didn't let them drink beer.

In the evening there were a few games of beer pong played and I believe puppies were concieved. NCD 2007 was featured on WGN radio 720 around 9pm and host Nick Digillio joined in the competiton. I wasn't able to get through to the station but Nick did read my shit talking comment I left on the blog saying that he needs to eat up because Mickey Morandini could eat his weight in hot dogs. If you are not a Chicago Cubs fan you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. However my buddy Andy did get through and was interviewed on air representing southern Indiana and Lebowski Achievers across the globe celebrating NCD 2007.

Indiana has been going strong since noon. Many Triple Singles have been achieved. I need to eat 4 more corndogs, 40 more tots, and 3 more beers to make the triple double.

Corndogs work like viagra for dogs apparently. We've been trying to mate these two dogs for a week. They participated in the challenge today and then the magic happened. But then they got stuck together. Coitus??

Corndogs have landed in Northwest Indiana. 3 boxes totaling 252 corndogs. We are going to re-use the foam coolers to store beer in on the deck and near the horseshoe pits the day of the party. My daughter was screaming and jumping up and down as we unloaded all of the dogs. I didn't think she was ever going to leave me alone if I didn't let her sample the goods. So we now have 251 corndogs for Saturday. Sorry...she made me do it.

NCDD and beer pong

NCDD is getting closer and Northwest Indiana is ready. We will have 2 beer pong tables going fully stocked with green beer. After much debate we have decided that the refs will keep track of the beers drank by the players and they will count towards the triple double for those trying to achieve it. Hopefully the weather will continue to be as nice as it is today and the horseshoe pits will be used too. We have a deep fryer coming over for the tots but we're going to bake the corndogs. If someone insists on having their dog fried, we can do it but in order to keep up with the demand we'll have the oven going at all times. We're also going to have corndogs and tots sent over to my husband and his co-workers at Royal Music. It sucks that they have to work on a Saturday but we'll get some video blog footage from our satellite location. We have one tv upstairs set up to view the NCAA games but the one downstairs will have The Big Lebowski on loop in honor of the Achievers across the country participating.
